Since Ryanair began flying in and out of Brussels Charleroi airport, intra-Europe travel has never been the same.

The brain child of Irish entrepreneur Tony Ryan, the low-cost no-frills airline offers a number of flights to and from Brussels and other European cities. Operating from 28 European bases, the popular airlines has 5,000 workers from 25 nationalities.

This year, the spunky airline will carry 52 million passengers on 713 low fare routes across 25 European countries.

The Irish airline flies out of Charleroi Brussels South Airport, a small airport just 60 kilometers southwest from the center of Brussels. A coach (bus) shuttle is provided from Charleroi to Brussels on the hour at a cost of 13 euro for a single fare and 22 euro for a return ticket.

If you plan your trip far enough in advance, the airline offers great deals on its flights to and from Brussels.

You can find direct service from Brussels to the following 34 European destinations: Alicante, Barcelona,Bergerac, Bologna, Carcassonne, Dublin, Faro, Fez, Gdansk, Glasgow, Grenoble Lyon, Limoges, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Marrakesh, Marseille Provence, Milan, Montpellier, Nimes, Pau, Perpignan, Pisa, Porto, Riga, Rome, Shannon, Tangier, Turin, Valencia, Valladolid, Venice, Wroclaw, Zaragoza.
